Question
Greetings and Salutations,
I assert, based on
TWiki:Support.IncludeFailsForPrefs and
TWiki:Support.FileOfWebVariables if I want to set a Preference for
NatSkin in a Topic INCLUDED by
TWikiPreferences I need to use %CALC{$SET(...)}% somewhere for it to be effective.
Assuming my assertion is true
Please, would one of you kind hearted Gurus, tell me extactly where to put the CALC and at least one example setting a
NatSkin Preference. I have successfully made
NatSkin to work as advertised but INCLUDING a Topic with Set statements dont seem to work.
I am just a little lost exactly where and how to apply the CALC function to set a given Preference when doing so with an INCLUDED Topic.
I think
NatSkin and INCLUDEs are key elements to what I have in mind to make it easy for a Neophite to customize the look of his/her TWiki. Of course I could be all wet, what the hell do I know, I am new.
Thanks in advance.

Answer
If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.
The topic Main.TWikiPreferences is explicitly intended to hold site-specific customisation for your TWiki. So why not simply set the variables within that topic, instead of including an extra topic?

I was thinking about enhancing the
NatSkinBrowser and use a
RedDot like plugin to modify INCLUDED TOPICS that change prefs w/o the User usng Set statements. This is what I am thinking.
However, inlight of this topic, I plan on looking at
MultiEditPlugin for the kind of thing I want to do. I don't exactly know what that is yet. I am kind a burn out at the moment just gettng TWiki running on my Win2k server under apache.
cheers.
