Question

The ChangePassword page doesn't seem to work even though I'm sure I'm typing the correct old password.

The page (and args) /twiki/bin/oops/TWiki/ChangePassword?template=oopswrongpassword comes up with this message:

The password you entered in the old password field is incorrect.

Please go back in your browser and try again.

Topic ChangePassword . { }

I cannot find anything in the logs that corresponds to this error. I've tried looking in both /var/log/httpd-error.log as well as the logYYYYMM.txt under the /twiki/data dir.

Answer

is this for one specific user (yourself) or for any user? If it's only for one user, then you should try ResetPassword. If it is for all users, I'm not techie enough to think of likely causes, so I can't give any suggestions.

It is for any user.
