Question

According to the TWikiOnSourceForge page, it appears that previous methods were rendered inoperable by the latest sourceforge system update. I like tiwki, and would preffer to be able to use it for my project's website, but is it even possible for it to run in an environment where anything that needs to be written has to be in the same special folder?

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease04x00x04
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS:
Web server:
Perl version:
Client OS:
Web Browser:
Categories: Hosting, Installation, Permissions

ALERT! If you answer a question - or have a question you asked answered by someone - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status is in a drop-down list below the edit box.

I did not follow the SourceForge policy. When they made the file system read-only as seen from the webserver it basically meant that TWiki could no longer update content.

If in the mean time they allow file updates via webserver in a special directory you might be able to get TWiki running. There are two directories that need to be writable, the twiki/data and the twiki/pub directory. You can install TWiki in a directory of choice, and move the two directories to the special directory. You need to configure TWiki to pick up the new location. Also, the twiki/pub directory needs to be located in an htdoc area so that files are accessible via web.

Let us know your process. If you find a way, please update the TWikiOnSourceForge topic so that other folks can benefit.
