Question
I'm having trouble getting authorization using LdapContrib working. I got the latest LdapContrib today...huh, I can't find any version information on it. It's the one dated 25-May-2008 that's attached to
http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Plugins/LdapContrib, anyway.
I unpacked it, run the installer, ran configure and configured stuff.
I've attached my configure full page showing exactly how I have it set up (okay, I wrote over the password used to connect to the LDAP server). (It's a Windows Active Directory server, using that global port trick to get all the users visible in one place.) (Well, I haven't yet attached it. Maybe when I finally submit the page the option to make the attachment will appear?)
I'm adding this to a working twiki installation; only two users and not a lot of content, but working.
When I go to the main twiki page and click on the "log in" link, I get a browser popup with the right text in it. When I enter my LDAP username and password and click 'ok', I just get the dialog again; which means the authorization failed, right? I've done this enough times I'm pretty sure I didn't typo something every single time. I find nothing in the twiki logs (like an error connecting to the server or something?).
Also, if I cancel out of the dialog, the registration page has the dreaded "temporarily disabled" notice on it. The .htpasswd file
IS writable to the apache user, despite what the warning in the log file says.
I'm reasonably confident in my LDAP server params. I'm using Apache LDAP configuration to control access to a Subversion repository off this same server, and I use that every day.
LdapContrib does NOT occur on the list of plugins in the configuration page. But the LDAP Settings section appears on the configuration page.
