Question

  • We have a problem with links to attachments.
  • If you click a link within a topic to an attachments in the same topic like a word document the document is not opened with the correct program (here MS Word). Only plain text is shown.
  • If you directly click the link in the attachment table everything works fine.
  • The problem only occurs while using Firefox. Everything works fine with Internet Explorer 6.

  • I have looked into browser issues but did not find the problem listed there.

  • Are these documents .doc files?
  • Is this type listed in your data/mimetypes ?

It is not .doc but .dot. I have just seen that .doc, .xls and .ppt work fine in Firefox. The problem only happens while using .dot. But also this type is listed in data/mimetypes (just after doc).

I had the same issue with .air files. Only after installing the application, Firefox would download the file instead of listing the file contents.
