Question

Can I extend the metadata that is stored with every attachment? For instance, I might want to add a field "Attachment Type", with a selection list of values, and have the user choose an Attachment Type for an attachment when they upload it.

And I'd also want to show my added metadata in the Attachments table (and via the Attachment List Plugin).

How hard would this be? Would I have to mess with Attach.pm? Any hints on what I would need to do?
