The idea of showing [current_topic]Dev and [current_topic]Appraisal in the left menu is good but it leads to some weird edge case topics -- misuse -- like this one. And of course, if you follow it again, it could lead to the creation of WebLeftBarAppraisalAppraisal? .

Is there some way this could be restricted to only show when the topic being viewed is actually a plugin or addon?

Yes, you can conditionally suppress the bullet with some SpreadSheetPlugin magic.

OK, I added a conditional section to the WebLeftBar, shown if the topic name ends in -AddOn, -Contrib, -Plugin or -Skin.
