My Notes

  • Form / Template based database creation of threads
    • There is a tutorial in the sandbox that almost makes sense: FormBasedTableTutorial
    • The Form defines the fields and their types (headings are fixed)
    • Template is a table with no values and points (in its METADATA) to a Form
      • I created one by editing the METADATA fields directly (since webforms varible did not work)
    • The cgi/bin script for edit knows how to use the formtemplate (= Template) field to create a new page (topic)
    • It seems that you can change the Form (in a super set way) and the Template will automagically change and so will any New pages/topics you create (not what is implied when you read the METADATA docs)
    • The formated SEARCH command/varible is used to group the results of searching all the created topics into one psudo search result that looks like a static table
