FreeBSD is a no-cost, OpenSource OS that grew out of the BSD branch of the Unix family tree. Depending on your OS religious affiliation it has better/worse performance, better/worse security, better/worse VM architecture than Linux. Used by some of the big boys for high volume work -- Walnut Creek CD-ROM, even Microsoft, (I think).

See http://www.freebsd.org and Codev.FreeBSD for more information.

A FreeBSD port (see http://www.freebsd.org/ports/) has recently been committed to the FreeBSD tree. See Codev.TWikiOnFreeBSD for more information.
