Feedback for Presentation: Wiki Collaboration and Wiki Applications in the Workplace

I just posted the TWikiPresentation2006x04x05 for LinuxWorld in Boston. Please let me know if you have any last minute feedback, I will give this talk in roughly 15 hours.

Discussion

Good presentation - the progression from email, structuring of related topics and evolution of content into lightweight apps is particularly useful.

"Light weight" can be written "lightweight".

Quite a good presentation. Just a few points about TWiki:

  • Currently TWiki doesn't have genuine ability to "Roll back unwanted changes" except in a very limited manner. This is a feature that I'd like to see added in short order.
  • Currently the only workflow available for Dakar is via my WorkflowPlugin, which does appear to work (dunno if anyone else is using it), but needs some testing and enhancements.
  • AFAIK, we only have two (very good) skin packages for Dakar. So it would be more accurate to say we have two skinpackages that are easily customisable.
  • A minor point, but do we really have over 200 Dakar-compatible plugins?

Thanks Martin and Meredith for the constructive feedback.

On workflow, I meant following informal workflows as we did with the ChangeProposals and do now with the Bugs tracking.

Isn't this more or less the same presentation you used the last 4 years (at least)? wink

Quite similar, yes. Suggestions for new content is appreciated smile

I like coupling "TWiki Basics" with the screenshots from Goole / Yahoo / java.net smile

The business procedures has been a good thing to introduce. If KennethLavrsen decides to wrap up their ISO9000-app at some point, I believe that will be helpful to introduce as well.

I was thinking about upgrading the SlideShowPlugin tool itself (if we're going to touch your presentations anyway) - for instance "HTML Slidy" from W3C has come a long way in this area?

I have added a quick wrap of it to SVN (Bugs:Item2160) - will run but there's still some work needed.
