SVK

svk is a decentralized version control system written in Perl. It uses the Subversion filesystem but provides additional, powerful features.

svk inherits the features from Subversion:

  • Versioned directories.
  • Versioned renames.
  • Atomic commits.
  • Cheap branching and tagging.

Also: (see SVKAbout if you are already familiar with Subversion)

  • Distributed branches.
  • Lightweight checkout copy management (no CVS .svn directories).
  • Advanced MergeFeatures.
  • Changeset signing and verification.
  • MirrorVCP: VCP integration to support mirror/branch from alien version control systems like cvs or perforce transparently.

Would a how-to be appropriate here, or in a new page? I would like to get something started, at least as far as I have gotten, let someone else finish/correct it. smile
