Precalculate Search Result Count

Currently the number of search results returned is displayed at the bottom of the results page. It would be useful to have this number at the top as well, before the whole page is loaded.

Proposal:
Calculate the number of search results that will be returned from a search, and display this at the top of the search results page.

If this is going to have a performance hit it should be defered to EdinburghRelease. That shouldn't mean it can't be worked on, just that it shouldn't make it into SVN until after Dakar.

It certainly is going to have a performance hit. I'm also not sure why we should do it, so I'm unscheduling it.

It would be rather neat to have a counter that incremented as results were returned. Javascript, anyone?
