Minutes of TWiki Jerusalem Release Meeting, 2012-05-11

Logistics, Participants, IRC log

1. Feature Requests for Jerusalem Release

  • Desired outcome: Discuss and decide on pending feature request that need attention
  • See TWikiFeatureProposals

  • RepositoryForSiteAndWebMetadata: Imazu-san reworked the proposal, now accepted. Feedback:
    • To get a complete audit trail (for traceability) it would be good to have settings version controlled, or alternatively, log changes to settings in TWiki log file
    • Think of a more descriptive term than "super", which could be confused with super class. Can be anything that is descriptive, such as extended attributes, extra preferences, extended settings, extended meta or the like.

  • VarTOPICTITLE: PTh proposed, accepted by release meeting
    • Related TopicDisplayName will be done after this
    • Imazu-san will post a related structured navigation plugin that handles %STRUCTNAV_TOPICTITLE%

  • Add social to TWiki: Brainstorming * First phase could be simply eye-candy: Add pictures of users to reports, like search and recent changes - already done to UserList.
    • Add "friend" concept, either mutual (like FB), asymmetrical follower/following (like Twitter), and/or group based
    • Social feeds based on "friends"
    • Add social analytics
    • Goal is to get work done more effectively

2. Review Urgent and Not So Urgent Bugs

  • (skipped)

3. TWiki Foundation Discussion

  • Desired outcome: Creative ideas and actions on forming a TWiki Foundation to attract more developers
  • See TWikiFoundation

  • (skipped)

4. Miscellaneous
