Minutes of Freetown Release Meeting, 2007-09-02

TOC and Agenda

Logistics, Participants, IRC log

Action Item Review

  • Sven to build first beta
  • Antonio to engage translators
  • Kenneth to finish release notes
  • DONE Rod to arrange marketing meeting
  • + bug fixing

1. Review Urgent Bugs

  • Desired outcome: Find owners to fix urgent bugs

2. Coordinate TWiki Release 4.2

  • Desired outcome: Decide on tentative dates for string freeze and other dates; identify and assign action items

  • Beta release:
    • Kenneth suggests a beta this weekend.
      • Because of bugs that were not addressed - we did not release beta this weekend.
    • SvenDowideit is looking to build a release package this week - either Alpha or Beta, depending on decision on the above.
      • We call it beta. Noone installs an alpha.
  • String freeze date: now
  • Code freeze date: will branch off TWikiRelease04x02 on SVN for first beta
  • Earliest release date: Depends now mostly on TMCE!
  • Must do before any release: Update release note (Kenneth will do), review one more time Bugs:TWiki.TWikiInstallation and Bugs:TWiki.TWikiUpgradeGuide. If people raise bugs Kenneth will fix.

Action Items

Current beta release blockers

  • DONE Bugs:Item4535, and
  • DONE Bugs:Item4534 - both are TMCE related where links point to the edit script.
  • Bugs:Item4048 because we do not want a CVE note of being ignoring security issues
  • Bugs:Item4523 - need to discuss solution
  • DONE Bugs:Item4537 - Kenneth fixes quickly. Few minutes work.
  • DONE Bugs:Item4536 - beta testers will want that Edit Raw button.
  • DONE Release note - Kenneth is already more than half way. One more day!
